South Oxfordshire is one of Britain's most beautiful regions and includes 47 miles of the Royal River Thames and the rolling Chiltern Hills. There are some fantastic places to visit throughout the region including the bustling towns of Henley-on-Thames, Didcot, Wallingford and Thame and quaint, relaxed villages like Dorchester and Little Wittenham.
Henley-on-Thames is perhaps the best known of the region's four main towns because of its annual Royal Regatta but visitors are also attracted to Wallingford's wealth of historical associations, Thame's annual show and market days and Didcot, with its famous steam railway centre.
Visitors who venture beyond the four main towns in South Oxfordshire will find a host of enchanting villages to enjoy, from Dorchester with its famous Abbey, through Stoke Row is noted for its Victorian Maharajah's Well and Little Wittenham, home of a noted nature reserve Wittenham Clumps.
